About
The Pandemic of 2019 brought to light the disparities in our systems, the injustices that prevail, and the power structure that has consistently plagued those who educate and care for our littlest learners. We are the front line workers, the foundation builders, and the support system so many families rely on. Without us, there would be no workforce. Through our interactions with the children trusted to our care, we have the unique opportunity to influence a world that is just and equitable, a world where kindness, connection, and empathy are survival skills, and where children feel safe to experiment, question, and engage in authentic ways that promote individual, cultural, ethnic, gender, and social identities.
It's through this lens that this community was created to establish a place where early childhood educators and care givers can gather, share, and lift each other. This journey is still in it's early development. The dream is that this space will become a place where all in the field can be seen, heard, and validated. To be a place where we can learn from each other, advocate as a whole, and create the presence and recognition that we have always known we deserve.
The goal of the Children's Community Garden is to help provide a natural environment and online learning space where children and families, can engage, discuss, and provide a lens into the personal experiences and needs of their communities.
