California Early Childhood Mentor Program Foothill Region
12th Annual Mentor Conference
Advocacy in Early Childhood
May 3, 2025
8:30 am to 12:30 pm
Mt. San Antonio College, Walnut, CA
In these difficult times, it's important that we gather together in community to discuss what each of us can do. Advocacy comes in many forms, and each person has their own unique gifts to share. This in person event will provide an opportunity to gather and learn what it means to advocate for the children in our care, the families we service, each other, and ourselves. Taking that first step is always the hardest. A light breakfast will be provided, there will be free gifts, and a raffle.
Keynote speaker: Justina Erpelding
An accomplished advocacy and policy specialist in California’s Early Childhood Education sector. Justina progressed from tracking state legislation on subsidized early childhood education to becoming the organization's Advocacy Coordinator. She built ECE Voices from the ground up, growing membership to over 1,000 advocates with 32 regional mentors. She recently launched Empowered Voices Consulting, LLC, offering consultation services to organizations and individuals seeking to navigate California's political landscape, understand legislative processes, and develop effective relationships with policymakers. Currently, Ms. Erpelding works with Bridges of the Mind Psychological Services.
